OBJECTIVE
Bridging the gap between systems, resources, and the workforce. Building a safe workplace and a healthy, wealthy workforce.
CHALLENGE
The workforce was not receiving the benefits of schemes, entitlements, and provisions made for their wellbeing because of the lack of awareness and guidance. There was no safe space for the workforce to talk about the problems they faced at work or back home.
SOLUTION
Strengthening the system for sustainable change through a Universal Help Desk that was introduced in the factories with personnel trained by Upfront and in charge of the help desk. The facilitator, who is part of the management or the factory staff, was made aware of government schemes, processes, and how the factory workforce could benefit from them.
The facilitator also provided guidance counselling on other health and mental health-related problems and made necessary recommendations in case serious issues were noticed.
IMPACT

The workplace has become safer for men and women, with PoSH and other harassment or violence cases at workplaces being solved effectively.

Stress-related issues that had led nearly 2-3 factory employees to consider suicide were addressed through timely intervention by the UHD.

More people are reaching out to the help desk every month, and there is increased awareness among people about health and wellbeing.

Stronger systems, policies, and sustainable changes have improved the lives of the workforce working at the factory.
